Highest from people I know is 280 for step1. Hope this helps.

The highest Step 1 from last year that I heard of was in the 280s.

By "most high", to you mean the chairman of the department?

I'm curious what the highest board score was that you saw...?

im a resident at pitt and got to look as some of the applicant whom got interviews. There is no doubt that board scores are high across the board but that is really just one part of the process. Personal statements letters of rec all shed light on type of person you are. One thing for i know we look for is people whom are cool under pressure. So on your interviews dont stress. You cannot worry about things that are not under your control. Be yourselves just relax and present yourselves accordingly. Being hungry and coming off weird or desperate dont come across well. Guys I know its stressful, but you already put the work in step 1, clinical rotations, ortho rotations. Try to enjoy the process, have faith in the most high and things will work out. yuppers.. you'll see , there's going to be dates that are mega conflicts... the residency coordinators will go nuts calling people and stuff.. It's just starting to be that time of year (it's the most wonderful time of the year!)

I have interviews at many of those places and I am not AOA and I am not even close to 250+. But my application has alot more going for it than just the "numbers".

Did you guys get any interviews last year after getting flat out rejected earlier?

250+ AOA, etc. doesn't mean jack. It's a totally random process. Yes if you hit the nail with manhy of the prefab requirements.. you'll get a lot of interviews.. but where you get interviews is totally random. I've seen people match at places with 220 and lower at places listed there.. so you never know.

and it's early yet.. I know.. I did it last year. I had 23 interview invites. by this time I only had 6 or so

Yea sorry I didn't mean to insult you or anything. Obviously you are a strong candidate and probably have way more interviews than me. But I am just trying to say that these programs are apparently highly competitive and that you would need even better numbers to receive an interview.

Well my opinion is not totally baseless. i applied to most of the programs on your list and I got rejected from most of them. i did receive a couple of interviews tho. Since I have 250 and AOA, that's why i said they were out of your reach since apparently they are out of mine.

That is a little too harsh on the person's post. I knew that people would speculate but don't insult the person's speculation. If you are so mean spirited then just read and keep on going. I digress. SPECULATE people.

I think most of schools on that list is out of your reach. you need at least a 250+ AOA to get an invite to those places unless you have something special.

What is going on? There are some programs that I would love to go to that I thought realistically I would receive interview from that denied me. Should we/I start thinking now that I may hear from them? Whew!!! Just screaming out loud at this process, people!
